The Sorento hybrid offers an impressive 5.4L/100km Combined[F] efficiency on FWD grade. Energy storage is managed by a 1kWh Li‑po battery located under the vehicle floor that requires no manual charging. Plug‑in Hybrid (PHEV) goes further with 1.6L/100km Combined[F] efficiency, and is able to charge from 15‑95% with a 3.3kW charger at an estimated 3 and a half hours.
Transmission
The 6‑speed automatic transmission is smooth, sporty and smart. The Drive Mode Selector lets you dial in the Sorento’s driving character, from enthusiastic Sport mode to ECO.

Make it safely to all destinations with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB). Using radar and camera data, your Sorento will sense the potential for a collision with a pedestrian, car or cyclist ahead and apply emergency braking to avoid or reduce the effects of a collision.
Parking Collision Avoidance Assist - Reverse (PCA)*
The PCA system provides a warning if there is a risk of collision with a rear object while reversing. It automatically assists with emergency braking if the risk of collision increases after the warning. Available on GT‑Line grade.
Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA)*
The Blind Spot Collision Avoidance system helps prevent or reduce the risk of collision with vehicles in the adjacent lane or coming from behind when the driver switches lanes through audio‑visual alerts and haptic steering feedback. The system will also activate to help prevent the vehicle from colliding with the adjacent vehicle approaching from the blind spot, if the driver fails to observe or obey the audio‑visual warnings prior.
360° Surround View Monitor*
The Surround View Monitor displays a 360‑degree view using four wide‑angle cameras for secure parking. Available on GT‑Line grade.
Safe Exit Warning & Assist (SEW)*
The Safe Exit Warning system will look out for you as it detects and warns of approaching vehicles that enter your blind spot zone before you open your door. Advanced Smart Cruise Control (ASCC)*
Feel at home on any road with Advanced Smart Cruise Control using radar to maintain a predetermined distance from the vehicle directly ahead, automatically slowing or accelerating your Sorento when appropriate. The ASCC will also come to a complete stop if the vehicle in front stops, and will accelerate if the vehicle in front accelerates within 3 seconds.
